1. Cognitive process, or thinking, plays an extremely important role in the formation of anxiety symptoms. The study found that patients with depression are more likely to interpret ambiguous or even benign events as the precursor of crisis, think that bad things will fall on them, think that failure is waiting for them, and underestimate their ability to control negative events.
  2. Although somatic disease or biological dysfunction is not the only cause of anxiety disorder, in some rare cases, patients’ anxiety symptoms can be caused by somatic factors, such as hyperthyroidism and adrenal tumor. Many researchers try to find out whether the central nervous system, especially some neurotransmitters, is the main cause of anxiety disorder. Many studies have focused on two neurotransmitters: norepinephrine and serotonin. Many studies have found that the levels of norepinephrine and serotonin in the brain of patients with anxiety change dramatically, but it is not sure whether these changes are the cause or result of anxiety symptoms.
